Job Description

The Policy Rating Technician position consists of the processing of applications of insurance, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, audits, binders and related material following specific procedures and guidelines under general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Rates and/or codes new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations and performs other policyholder service functions.
  • Accurately enters business on CRT.
  • Maintains policy files in proper order.
  • May communicate by phone or letter with agents and company departments.
  • Interprets and applies verbal and/or written instructions, manuals and rates.
  • May prepare requests for reports from information or service bureau.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere on request.

Requirements

  • A high school education or its equivalent is preferred.
  • Six months to one-years’ office experience in related field.
  • Ability to operate calculators and CRT terminals.
  • Mathematical skills, good penmanship, ability to reason, communicate, cooperate and get along with others.
