As a fast-growing company striving to make a difference every day, we are seeking a collaborative System & Robotic Integration Engineer to join the team. The System & Robotic Integration Engineer will work cross-functionally with the Product Development and Commercial teams to develop and execute customer requirements.


To succeed in this role, you will have some experience in PLC Programming Languages, sensor integration and controls cabinet design. You'll play a crucial part in translating customer needs to technical deliverables. This role will also include domestic travel up to 35%. Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, release and maintain Robot Code
  • Collaborate with Software, Solutions, and Hardware teams to solve technical problems and develop new capabilities
  • Provide technical support remote and onsite
  • Troubleshoot and analyze any problems with robot integration and Oxipital AI Integrated Systems
  • Provide feedback to Hardware and Software teams that improve integration and user experience
  • Specify and integrate Industrial Automation Components
  • Collaborate with Commercial team on custom advanced engineering solutions projects
  • Own end-to-end controls projects: design, build, program, document, and transfer to operations
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure HW solutions work in the vision, robotic, and/or automation systems in which they are integrated with
  • Perform field installations of Oxipital AI equipment
  • Design, build, and test prototypes for design confirmation/performance verification
  • Ability to perform In-Field automation line audits and assessments and provide other Advanced Engineering Services in support of corporate initiatives and Commercial projects
  • Work with Operations on MFG-Transfer of new HW into the production environment, including assisting with First Article Fabrications, Test Fixtures, QA requirements and testing, and assembly documentation


Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Controls Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in a related role
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 35%, including weekends as needed
  • Experience using SOLIDWORKS ELECTRICAL Schematic
  • Experience in IEC 61131-3 PLC Programming Languages
  • Knowledge of controls cabinet design and component sourcing
  • Prior experience with sensor integration and industrial networking
  • Brownfield integration experience integrating with existing customer equipment and requirements
  • Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, CIP Communications, and EDS File Creation & Editing
  • Experience with HMI design using Inductive Automation Ignition Perspective
  • Industrial robot programming experience
  • Experience with functional safety systems for industrial controls
  • Ability to debug electrical schematics and industrial control systems
  • Hands on experience designing and fabricating parts for prototype builds
  • Experience using lab tools for dimensional confirmation and mechanical, electrical, and thermal testing


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Studio 5000
  • Familiar with git version control
  • SOLIDWORKS Mechanical 3D and PDM
  • SOLIDWORK ELECTRICAL 3D
  • Experience working in a Revision Controlled environment, utilizing PLM and ECOs
  • Python/C/C++ experience
  • Windows scripting experience
  • Experience in programming FANUC, ABB, and Staubli industrial robotic systems
