SAIC is seeking an experienced Logistics Lead to establish and manage logistics operations for a new system deliverable production project at our Bedford, IN Production Facility. This position will support integration efforts for our Department of Defense (DoD) customer, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality systems while maintaining compliance with ISO and DoD standards.

 

This role requires a results-driven leader with deep logistics expertise, a strong focus on quality and process development, and a willingness to be hands-on during the setup and execution of a scalable production operation.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics processes to enable efficient material planning, inventory management, and on-schedule delivery in a production environment.
  • Lead and oversee all logistics operations, ensuring compliance with program and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the logistics subject matter expert (SME), offering technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Collaborate across functional teams to support production readiness, solve challenges, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Lead inventory management, procurement tracking, and production kitting efforts to ensure alignment with production needs.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure program success.
  • Guide and manage the logistics team, encouraging skill development and fostering a culture of collaboration and quality.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve logistics-related challenges.
  • Bachelor’s Degree + 6 years of logistics-related experience, or Master’s Degree + 4 years. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant logistics experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics operations, including material handling, warehouse management, inventory control, and production support.
  • Experience supporting government or DoD production programs is highly preferred.
