Job Description

RESPEC seeks an Early Career Geologist to join our Pipersville, PA, location.

The Early Career Geologist position will be part of a team that supports geotechnical, environmental, and engineering projects through field investigations, data collection, and technical analysis. This role involves conducting subsurface explorations; soil and rock logging; groundwater, surface water, and stormwater sampling; and site assessments to evaluate geologic conditions. The Early Career Geologist prepares or supports the preparation of technical reports, interprets geologic and geotechnical data, and collaborates with geologists, engineers, and project managers to support design recommendations and regulatory compliance. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Conducting geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental investigations
  • Performing field sampling of groundwater, surface water, soil, air, and other materials
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting subsurface data, including soil and groundwater characteristics
  • Overseeing and assisting in soil and rock classification during drilling projects
  • Supporting geologic and engineering tasks in the office, including data analysis and report preparation
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology; Master’s degree is a plus
  • 1–3 years of relevant field work and technical writing experience
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork year-round, potentially for extended durations
  • Experience with groundwater modeling, CAD, ArcGIS, Leapfrog, or boring log software (e.g., gINT) is a plus
  • Ability to obtain Geologist-In-Training (GIT) and Professional Geologist (PG) licensure
