Job: Foam Technician - PUR Shooter I

While reporting to the Supervisor you will be responsible for injecting insulating foam into a variety of products primarily but not limited to the following: polyethylene and fiberglass containers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Follow the company procedures and the manufacturer’s recommendations for operation of the equipment.
  • Make recommendations for procedural changes as necessary.
  • Recognize specific product defects, voids, or flaws and their probable cause. Determine if raw materials meet specifications through periodic quality checks.
  • Monitor the foaming system and the associated equipment. Immediately report to the supervisors any actual or potential problems.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment in optimum working condition.
  • Keep all jigs and fixtures clean, waxed and properly adjusted. Report any needed repairs to the supervisor immediately. When a job is completed, thoroughly clean all fixtures before warehousing.
  • Make efficient use of shop supplies and materials, especially when conducting equipment ratio checks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
  • Continually practice safe operation and handling of all equipment, raw materials and products throughout the entire plant.   
  • Overtime required at times.

  • You will have 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both education and experience
  • You will need to be able to lift up to 70 lbs. as needed.
  • You will need to able to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence and memos
  • You must have the ability to use and accurately read a tape measure
  • You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
  • You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
