Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring seamlessness in keeping production and customer orders on track. This position serves as a key link between customers, suppliers, shipping, receiving, inventory control, production, customer service, and commercial teams.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused, with strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems while managing competing priorities. This individual must be a proactive problem solver who can investigate issues, analyze data, identify root causes, and work collaboratively to resolve challenges impacting inventory, shipments, customer orders, and operational performance.

Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, critical thinking, a strong sense of ownership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

The initial training shift for this role will be Monday – Thursday, 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM. The intent is to transition the shift schedule to Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day following successful completion of the training period.

How You Will Make an Impact

Customer Service & Cross-Functional Coordination

Provide exceptional support to customers and internal stakeholders while serving as a key link between departments.

  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers through phone, email, and in-person communication.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding order status, shipments, and delivery issues.

  • Communicate proactively regarding shipment delays, inventory concerns, and supply chain disruptions.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Partner with Customer Service, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Logistics teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while driving timely resolution.

Warehouse, Shipping & Inventory Operations

Support efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and warehouse operations to meet production and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound material movement to support production schedules and customer demands.

  • Process shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and shipping orders.

  • Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, documentation, and product condition.

  • Operate warehouse systems and equipment to support material handling and inventory transactions.

  • Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of materials throughout the facility.

  • Enter and maintain accurate records in Microsoft D365 ERP, OTM, and other business systems.

  • Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment activities.

  • Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory control initiatives.

  • Maintain documentation related to shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Problem Resolution, Analysis & Continuous Improvement

Leverage analytical and critical-thinking skills to resolve issues, improve processes, and drive operational excellence.

  • Investigate order discrepancies and collaborate with appropriate teams to determine root cause and resolve issues.

  • Analyze information from multiple systems to identify trends, errors, and improvement opportunities.

  • Recommend process improvements that enhance customer service, operational efficiency, and inventory accuracy.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, organization, and performance.

  • Identify, assess, and resolve operational issues while ensuring accurate follow-through and documentation.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment.

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting within warehouse and production environments.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • May operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, following company training and certification requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or post-secondary education preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, customer service, logistics, inventory control, supply chain, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word).

  • Experience working with ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), preferred.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build relationships and provide professional support to internal and external customers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.

  • Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Working knowledge of inventory control, shipping, receiving, warehousing, procurement, or logistics processes preferred.

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, ITW Toolbox, Kaizen, or similar operational excellence concepts is a plus.

Work environment:

  • Combination office, warehouse, and manufacturing environment.

  • Frequent interaction with production teams, warehouse personnel, suppliers, carriers, and customers.

  • Exposure to forklift traffic, machinery, production activity, and varying temperatures within warehouse and manufacturing areas.

Compensation Information:

The base hourly range for this position is $23.37 – 27.45 per hour. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
