The Inventory Maintenance Technician, under the supervision of the Assistant Utility Manager provides maintenance, oversight and control over a wide variety of Utility related inventory, tools, equipment and warehouse and shop spaces.

Starting pay: $21.73 per hour

Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control of parts, tools, equipment and safety items. Ensures equipment and supplies are available for service by providing appropriate levels of preventative maintenance on equipment such as pumps, compressors, generators, saws and other tools and items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years related experience required.
  • Knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Strong Computer Skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and tablet usage.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to support an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment
  • Working knowledge of supplies and equipment necessary to operate a water distribution and wastewater collection system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written.
  • Ability to organize equipment and supplies neatly and efficiently.
  • Working knowledge of applied principles of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. 6. Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Skilled in the use of standard desktop office software and other applications.
  • Skilled in small engine maintenance and repair.
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to perform job assignments with minimal direct supervision and the ability to make sound, logical decisions.
  • Ability to complete work orders and forms in a neat, legible, timely and accurate manner.
  • Knowledge of City, Department and Division policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, suppliers and the public.
