WAVE is currently looking for a Material Packaging employee to join our team!
Hours will be: Monday through Thursday 2:30 PM - 12:30 AMÂ
Support production of custom aluminum extrusions used in ceiling perimeter systems by unloading incoming material, sorting and stocking shelves. Moving material around the work site with a forklift or pallet jack and staging material in a timely and accurate manner for production operations. Removing pallets that are prepared for shipping. Experience safely operating a 4-way directional reach truck is required for some open positions.Â
General Responsibilities:
- Work safely by demonstrating a commitment to safety, understand and follow safety instructions, training and procedures and report safety concerns right away
- Safely operate a forklift to load/unload, stage, stack and unstack material
- To operate a forklift, candidate must have valid driver’s license and pass forklift certification
- Safely operate a 4-way directional reach truck to stage, stack and unstack material
- Bundle incoming material in quantities needed for production
- Stage material for production in a timely and accurate manner to ensure optimum production efficiency
- Ensure areas are supplied with parts and remove finished pallets to shipping
- Accurately locate material and goods in the warehouse
- Accurately complete required documentation, prepare labels and manifests, data entry
- Visually inspect and report defects
- Flexible/adaptable to assignment changes, will jump in when help is needed, learn new things and back up other areas as needed
- Work overtime as needed, even if not scheduled in advance
- Experience in a fast-paced, high performance manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma, preferred
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Stand for extended periods of time and safely lift up to 40 pounds
- High school diploma or GED
- Successfully pass drug screen, background check and pre-placement physical
