Janitor/Maintenance

Viking is seeking a part time Janitor/Maintenance person to ensure the building is safe, clean and operational by performing daily cleaning (sweeping, mopping, trash removal, sanitation) and handle exterior maintenance (mowing, sweeping, weed whacking, snow & ice removal) 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Cleaning and Sanitization:  Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors, washing windows and walls 
• Restroom Management:  Thoroughly cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking restrooms 
• Minor Maintenance:  Changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing, painting and minor building repairs 
• Waste Disposal:  Emptying trash cans and recycling bins 
• Exterior Maintenance:  Mowing lawns, sweeping walkways, and removing snow or ice 
• Maintenance Parts Runner:  Run for parts for maintenance garage as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic maintenance skills and familiarity with hand tools and basic repairs
• ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment and bend/kneel
• Understanding of chemical cleaning and safety protocols
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision
