Our Commerce, CA location is part of our Taste Division. They are producing Liquid and Powder Flavors and Extracts, this can range from being in syrups to even pet food. The site tends to work will a lot of Sweet flavors, with that does comes the sweet smells such as Chocolate and Cinnamon.
What You'll Do
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for leading the site sanitation program at Kerry's Commerce manufacturing facility, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This role serves as the facility's sanitation subject matter expert, partnering with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams to maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready environment while driving continuous improvement across sanitation processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate sanitation activities across the facility to ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, processing areas, and facility infrastructure.
- Conduct sanitation verification activities, including inspections, ATP testing, and corrective actions.
- Manage the site's sanitation programs, SSOPs, training, and Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits while maintaining accurate sanitation records.
- Partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement and strengthen food safety performance.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Food Manufacturing Sanitation Certification.
- 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing sanitation, quality, production, or related operations.
- Working knowledge of sanitation programs, ATP testing, GMPs, SSOPs, allergen controls, and food safety requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems.
Preferred
- Experience with SQF, BRC, FDA, USDA, or GFSI food safety programs.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using Intelex or similar compliance management systems.
What We Offer
The hiring range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
