Job Summary:

The Director of Acute Care provides strategic leadership as a nurse leader responsible for nursing care treatment

and services, as well as other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

ï‚· Set clear goals and expectations; provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.

ï‚· Develop talent through mentoring, training, and career development initiatives.

ï‚· Promote a collaborative and engaging work environment that aligns with company values.

ï‚· Manage conflict and make timely decisions to maintain team focus and performance.

ï‚· Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and development conversations.

ï‚· Approve timecards, schedules, time-off requests, and other administrative HR functions.

ï‚· Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and safety regulations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

ï‚· Accountable to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and

appropriate resource management.

ï‚· Provides leadership for critical care and medical/surgical nursing department.

ï‚· Administers managerial and leadership functions of planning, goal setting, staffing, and directing

activities of assigned departments/areas of responsibility.

ï‚· Is responsible for organization throughout, clinical, and financial management, improving quality and

safety outcomes and increased customer satisfaction for patients, families, and physicians and Function

as Administrative Point-of-Contact for the purpose of responding to any and all audits associated with

Acute Care and ED Services.

ï‚· Acts as community liaison for the purpose of awareness, relationship building and improving clinical

programs.

ï‚· Participates in continuous quality improvement activities.

ï‚· Has business/fiscal development accountability.

ï‚· Responsible for employee and patient satisfaction initiatives and outcomes.

ï‚· Responsible for payroll for staff.

ï‚· Responsible for safety as well as safe staffing.

ï‚· All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

ï‚· While performing the essential functions of this position, the Director will understand and strive to keep

the mission, vision, and values of the company.

ï‚· The Director must be committed to the improvement and best interests of the facility and the service

provided by the relevant department.

ï‚· Has excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.

ï‚· Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure or stress.

ï‚· Demonstrates the ability to establish priorities among the essential functions of the job and coordinate

these functions with others.

ï‚· Demonstrates the ability to speak, read, and write the English language.

Education and Experience:

ï‚· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or

related field preferred.

ï‚· Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the applicable state.

ï‚· Minimum of five (5) years of acute care nursing experience required.

ï‚· Minimum of three (3) years of progressive leadership or management experience in an acute care or

hospital setting preferred.

ï‚· Strong knowledge of nursing operations, regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, patient safety,

and quality improvement initiatives required.

ï‚· Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams, manage departmental operations, and support patient

centered care initiatives.

ï‚· Current BLS & ACLS.

classification (exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater

than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those

for Light Work) according to the Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
