Job DetailsJob Location: Belle Plaine, MN 56011Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $17.81 - $24.11 HourlyJob Shift: DaysJob Category: Installation - Maint - RepairBuilding Maintenance Technician The Lutheran Home – Belle Plaine, MN Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Day Shift (7:30am - 4pm) (5 week On-Call Rotation) Pay Range: $17.81 - $24.11 (Starting wage based on years of relevant maintenance experience) Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our campus. This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and well-functioning environment for our residents. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and furnishings Inspect and repair items such as beds, wheelchairs, HVAC systems, and other facility equipment Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems Complete general maintenance tasks (light changes, minor repairs, trash removal, etc.) Assist with painting, carpentry, and structural repairs Assist with outdoor grounds including mowing, trimming, snow removal, and shoveling. Monitor boilers, ventilation, refrigeration, and other operating systems to ensure proper function Conduct safety checks ensuring readiness for state surveys, including fire detection and prevention systems Transport supplies and materials throughout the facility Maintain accurate logs of maintenance work, inspections, and equipment readings Interact respectfully with residents, staff, and visitors at all times Qualifications C-2 Boiler License required (Or must obtain within 6 months) Company will pay for the cost of testing and license. *$1/hr pay increase upon completion Valid driver’s license with clean driving record  Must be able to pass background check Experience in building maintenance, mechanical systems, or a skilled trade preferred Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical documents High school diploma or GED Basic math and recordkeeping skills Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment Commitment to providing respectful, resident-centered service Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Exposure to equipment, machinery, dust, and temperature changes Work Environment Working around mechanical equipment and machinery Exposure to outdoor elements (heat, cold, snow) Use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment Driving company vehicles as needed
