Housekeeping Aide

Position Summary

A Housekeeping Services Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean and presentable facility appearance. Follows facility cleaning policies and insures a clean and sanitary work environment. Follows established sanitary and infection control policies and procedures.

General Purpose

The general purpose of the Housekeeping Services Aide is to maintain the facility in a clean state.

Position Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Clean resident rooms, utility rooms, med rooms, day rooms, nurse’s stations and corridors
• Clean offices, employee break room, shower rooms and common areas
• Clean sinks, toilets and hoppers
• Empties trashcans and other refuse containers
• Washes interior windows
• Cleans resident furniture, equipment is beds, mattresses, wheelchair, O2, dresser. 
• Floor care duties as assigned. 
• Vacuums carpets
• Dusts and polishes furniture
• Washes walls, doors, and cabinets
• Cleans baseboards, shelves
• Attends meetings, training and in-service as required.
• Performs other job-related work as necessary.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Ability

Education/Certifications/Experience

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE: Work Experience – 1 year working experience as housekeeping worker in a hospital, institution, or long term care facility.
