Valley View Retirement Community is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Environmental Services Department. In this leadership role, you’ll help oversee daily maintenance operations, ensure the safety and comfort of our residents, and keep our facilities in top condition — including coverage during rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities Assist the Director of Environmental Services with departmental planning, policies, and daily operations. Supervise maintenance staff and oversee scheduling, performance, and training. Coordinate maintenance activities across departments to minimize disruption. Maintain preventive maintenance programs for building systems, equipment, and grounds. Oversee outside vendors to ensure work is completed safely and according to specifications. Conduct regular facility inspections and address maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Enforce compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and facility standards. Participate in safety and quality assurance committees as assigned. Work scheduled rotating weekends and holidays to ensure facility needs are met. Qualifications Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems (including boilers, compressors, and generators). Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations. Prior experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and work well with residents, staff, and contractors.
