Senior Product Manager, Electric Utility Division
National Safety Apparel (NSA)

Job Summary
National Safety Apparel (NSA) is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy and market development for our Electric Utility Division. This role serves as the voice of the customer and the subject matter expert for utility product solutions, helping guide portfolio decisions, support sales growth, and strengthen NSA's position as a trusted partner within the electric utility industry.

The Senior Product Manager will lead a team of Product Specialists and Demonstrators responsible for customer engagement, product training, field support, and market intelligence. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Executive Leadership, this individual will drive product strategy, identify market opportunities, evaluate competitive offerings, and ensure customers understand the value and proper use of NSA's solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of the electric utility industry with strong leadership, product management, and customer engagement skills. This full-time role will be located in NSA’s Belleville, Illinois office. 

Key Responsibilities
•    Develop and execute a product strategy and roadmap for NSA's Electric Utility Division.
•    Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Specialists and Product Demonstrators.
•    Serve as the primary subject matter expert on utility products and industry standards.
•    Partner with distributors, sales representative agencies and end users to identify needs, trends, and emerging market opportunities.
•    Translate customer and market insights into product enhancement and new product development opportunities.
•    Collaborate with sales to support business development efforts, key customer presentations, field demonstrations, and strategic account growth.
•    Develop and deliver technical product training for customers, distributors, and internal sales teams.
•    Conduct ongoing competitive analysis, including product feature comparisons, market positioning, pricing trends, and industry developments.
•    Support product launches and commercialization efforts in partnership with Marketing and Operations teams.
•    Represent NSA at industry conferences, trade shows, standards committees, and customer events.
•    Establish key performance metrics and regularly evaluate product portfolio performance, market share opportunities, and customer satisfaction.

 

 

 
Qualifications & Experience

Required
•    Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field.
•    7+ years of experience in the electric utility industry, preferably with a manufacturer or provider of safety or utility component products, or related solutions.
•    Demonstrated product management, product marketing, or technical leadership experience.
•    Strong knowledge of electric utility operations, safety practices, and customer buying processes.
•    Experience leading or mentoring technical, product, or customer-facing teams.
•    Exceptional presentation, communication, and training skills.
•    Experience supporting new product development and commercialization initiatives.
•    Ability to build credibility with utility customers, safety professionals, and field personnel.
•    Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
•    Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites, industry events, and field demonstrations.

Preferred / Nice to Have
•    MBA or advanced degree.
•    Background working for a utility equipment, safety products, or utility component manufacturer.
•    Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, including IEEE, ASTM, IEC and utility-specific safety requirements.
•    Experience managing product portfolios with revenue and profitability accountability.
•    Established network of contacts within electric utilities, distributors, and industry organizations.
