As a member of a dynamic sales team, the sales professional is responsible to sell to both new and existing customers, with a primary focus on net new potential, within a defined geographic territory. Responsible for finding and vetting new business opportunities, developing value propositions and customized pricing and closing business by positioning FedEx solutions to meet the customer’s needs. Specializes in assisting Primary Sales Executives in overcoming customer objections to close incremental new business. Customer interactions typically require a short to medium sales cycle. Living within a reasonable commuting distance to the assigned territory is a requirement for this role.
Accountabilities & Tasks:
- Targets new business opportunities by identifying potential new customers and growing revenue, conducting background research on potential customers, discussing the customer’s supply chain with decision makers and other appropriate customer representatives, analyzing customer needs, and developing and implementing value propositions and customized pricing. Utilizes Customer Data Enablement, Suggested Calls, and other data-driven reporting to identify opportunities.
- Maintains regular and consistent communication with DSM, district AEs and peers within the Sales organization, related to joint sales call opportunities, lead generation, etc. in support of new/incremental revenue.
- Navigates internal, cross-functional processes to coordinate and collaborate on support and solutions with internal FedEx teams to provide a seamless and outstanding customer experience and close incremental business.
- Produces and presents both competitive and market-based pricing and customized strategic pricing to customers using mid-to senior level negotiation skills.
- Collaborates with sales peers, marketing, finance, operations, and other areas as appropriate in identifying issues and developing/implementing solutions to support retention/growth of revenue
- Other related duties as assigned based on the needs of FedEx and/or our customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of business-to-business sales experience, or two (2) years of FedEx business-to-business sales experience required. Ability to travel overnight as required.
