Responsibilities
- Define and execute engineering strategy and roadmap across a portfolio of teams, balancing engineering craft, AI capability investments, and business priorities
- Build and grow the engineering organization by attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing engineers and engineering managers at multiple levels
- Rethink team structures and investment strategies as AI changes what engineering teams can own and accomplish
- Partner with product, design, and data science leaders to establish shared accountability for product quality, technical direction, and business outcomes
- Proactively identify and resolve the largest execution risks across teams, including vision gaps, dependency blockers, and organizational health challenges
- Drive AI transformation across the organization, including adoption of AI-augmented development workflows and tooling
- Establish a self-reinforcing engineering culture that values craft, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
- Monitor and act on organizational health signals, including team engagement, retention, and manager effectiveness, to maintain a high-performing and collaborative environment
- Contribute to company-wide engineering initiatives including recruiting pipelines, cross-functional working groups, and site-level programs
- Ensure teams operate in compliance with Meta's code of conduct, company policies, and responsible AI principles, modeling ethical decision-making at the leadership level
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including experience in technical leadership roles
- 6+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers and leading multi-team organizations
- Track record of defining and executing engineering strategy across multiple teams or product areas with measurable business impact
- Experience building and scaling engineering organizations through hiring, development, and retention of engineers and engineering managers
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with product, design, and data science to drive shared outcomes at an organizational level
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience establishing engineering quality standards and operational practices that improve efficiency and reliability across multiple teams
- Experience leading engineering organizations through significant platform or technology transitions, including the adoption of AI-augmented development practices
- Track record of building engineering leadership benches through both external hiring and internal development of high-potential engineers and managers
$271,000/year to $347,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
