Job Description

Bryn Mawr Trust, a WSFS Company, provides locally managed and collaborative wealth management solutions, including a broad array of planning and advisory services, investment management, trust and estate planning, brokerage and investment services to individual, corporate, and institutional clients through multiple integrated businesses.

The Senior Trust Tax Accountant is responsible for the preparation, review, and administration of federal, state, and local tax returns for our Corporate Trustee operations in Delaware. This individual will serve as a trusted tax resource to internal partners and clients, providing technical expertise, researching complex tax matters, and assisting with tax compliance and reporting requirements.

This role is part of a growing in-house trust tax team and will play a key role in enhancing tax operations, improving processes, and supporting the continued expansion of fiduciary tax services. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical tax knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review income tax returns.
  • Apply federal, state, and local tax laws to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance for primarily the Bryn Mawr Trust Company of Delaware, a limited purpose trust company established in Delaware.
  • Research and interpret tax regulations and guidance to resolve complex fiduciary tax matters.
  • Partner closely with Trust Officers, Wealth Advisors, Investment Advisors, and other internal stakeholders to address tax-related issues and client inquiries.
  • Respond to and resolve notices and inquiries from federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
  • Assist with tax planning opportunities and support client discussions regarding trust and fiduciary tax implications.
  • Contribute to process improvements, technology enhancements, and operational efficiencies within the Trust Tax function.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and fiduciary tax industry best practices.
  • Support special projects and other departmental initiatives as assigned.
  • Demonstrate and promote the mission, values, and client-first culture of Bryn Mawr Trust.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related business field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of fiduciary, trust, estate, or public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state fiduciary income taxation.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply tax laws and regulations to trust and estate accounts.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technology skills with the ability to learn and work within multiple tax, trust accounting, and reporting systems.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience within a trust company, wealth management firm, family office, or public accounting environment serving high-net-worth clients.
  • Professional designation such as CPA, EA, or JD, or active pursuit of a professional credential.

Salary Range:

$77,390.00 - $127,139.75

Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
