About You:āÆĀ
We are looking for aĀ passionateĀ Staff Machine Learning Engineer to bridge the gap betweenĀ cutting-edgeĀ MLĀ algorithm developmentĀ and production grade, scalable software engineering for our search and personalization systems.Ā
In this role, you will be theĀ technicalĀ leaderĀ of our engineering rigor,Ā design the core architecture,Ā establishĀ engineeringĀ bestĀ practices, createĀ scalableĀ MLOpsĀ pipelines, and design a codebase that allows the team to iterate, deploy, and quickly experiment in production. You will act as a force multiplier, elevating the software engineering capabilities of the entire ML team.Ā

Recommendation & SearchĀ model trainingĀ architecture:Ā Architect, build, and scale recommendation systemsĀ poweringĀ personalization and search experiences across our streaming platforms.Ā
Codebase Architecture:Ā Design modular, scalable ML repositories built for rapid iteration, fast deployment, and production experimentation.Ā
Engineering Excellence:Ā EstablishĀ coding standards, testing frameworks, code review workflows, and CI/CD pipelines using open-source cloud technologiesĀ for ML and DS workstreams.Ā
Production Velocity:Ā Build infrastructure abstractions and components that allow seamless transition from model training to large-scale serving.Ā
Cross-Functional Delivery:Ā Collaborate withĀ other ML engineers,Ā data scientists andĀ product managers,Ā to drive complex ML projects from conception to completion.Ā
Strategic Planning:Ā Partner withĀ product andĀ engineering leadership to define, plan, and deliver against long-term strategic goals.Ā
Culture & Mentorship:Ā Mentor and influence engineers across organizations byĀ demonstratingĀ high-quality work, advocating for the customer, and fostering an innovative,Ā engineering-driven culture.Ā

Requirements:āÆāÆĀ
8+ years of industry experience, with 4+ years as tech lead experience (preferred)Ā Ā
DeepĀ practicalĀ knowledge in designingĀ scalable, production-grade Search or Recommendation systems architectureāÆĀ
Knowledge of large-scale distributedĀ systems, architecture, APIs, andĀ databases.Ā
SolidĀ practicalĀ understandingĀ in modern machine learning lifecycle, common pain-points, and research and production environments.āÆĀ
Staff level experience building production systems withĀ expertiseĀ inĀ Python/Java,Ā containerization, and cloud platforms.Ā
Hands-on experience withĀ MLOpsĀ tools and frameworks (MLflow,Ā Kubeflow,Ā Sagemaker,Ā etc), orĀ building internal systems.Ā
Familiarity with machine learning algorithms (in particular forĀ recommender systems) isĀ a strongĀ plusĀ

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discoveryās total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $132,300.00 - $245,700.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
