Role summary:As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of technical solutions for small to large projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions while ensuring quality and timely delivery. This role involves coding, testing, and maintaining software components with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. You will also provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting business objectives through innovative and efficient software development practices.

The Customer Engagement Services Technology team develops advanced customer service solutions impacting millions worldwide. Comprising software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts, the team focuses on innovative Generative AI applications within complex enterprise environments. As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Systems, it collaborates closely with product, business, and UX partners to deliver measurable business value. The team emphasizes scalable, secure, and maintainable software design while fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence to support Walmart’s mission of helping customers save money and live better.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-level designs during project discovery phases.
- Analyze and troubleshoot business and production issues, performing root cause analysis and developing effective solutions.
- Translate project requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
- Write, test, and maintain code adhering to coding standards and security policies.
- Execute unit and regression testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and implement improvements for scalability and availability.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to small engineering teams, supporting project delivery and knowledge sharing.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery using object-oriented programming and iterative development methodologies.
- Strong technical acumen with expertise in API design, platform development, and component services.
- Proficiency in debugging, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Ability to analyze requirements, perform root cause analysis, and develop sustainable technical solutions.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies including generative artificial intelligence and telemetry implementation.
- Skilled in documentation-based coding and maintaining quality, security, and scalability standards.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $216,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
