Position Title: Baler Operator  

Department: Commercial Services 

Status: Part Time/Non-exempt 

Reports to:  Logistics/Warehouse Supervisor 

 

Position summary:  The Baler Operator is responsible for baling products for recycling that meet the quality and safety standards for both the company and its customers. 

 

Essential functions:  

  • Follow established policies and procedures on the baling process, including use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Ensure that the workstation contains the correct components and safety procedures have been followed prior to assembly.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors, team leaders and material handlers regarding production status (i.e., down time, material shortage, etc.).
  • Maintain daily production sheets utilizing the correct task codes for production time, downtime, floor time, etc.; ensure that daily production totals are accurate.
  • Assists as Box Truck Helper as necessary.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Maintain work area, including sweeping, emptying garbage, etc. 
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees at all times.
  • Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and required skills: 

  • Knowledge of Safety/OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to safely use power tools as required to maintain facility and equipment.
  • Ensures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment when required.
  • Ability to use physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, reaching and climbing; ability to lift up to 25lbs. consistently.

 

Education and experience:  

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

FULL-TIME - 6:00 AM - 2:30PM
