Placement within the range is determined by an evaluation of the candidate’s background, education and experience. We have 12 clinics and 3 urgent care centers in Whatcom and Skagit County, in a beautiful corner of northwest Washington where the mountains meet the sea.  Essential Functions: The primary function of the EHR Trainer is to provide training to all users of the Family Care Network Electronic Health Records platform (EHR) and related systems. The EHR Trainer will develop EHR, and other related training content and materials based on chart reviews and input from management and users. The EHR Trainer will provide onboarding EHR training and subsequent trainings on system enhancement, upgrades, and related workflows. This position will support any new or upgraded implementation models. Implementation tasks will include testing in support environments, redesigning clinical workflows, facilitating end-user application trainings, and supporting go-live activities. The EHR Trainer will document and monitor new and existing workflows and their associated procedures. The EHR Trainer will also be involved in the development of necessary policies and procedures and will bring forward related issues that require resolution. The EHR Trainer also will be expected to cover aspects of general EHR support provided primarily by other team members. EHR trainers work with the directors, managers, and leads to develop and maintain the training program for the roles in their application. Trainers may also work with provider champions. We are looking for a qualified, motivated individual with a passion for family medicine who can: Assess/reassess EHR skills gaps and create topic and/or team-specific training programs. Conduct in person, one-on-one training, and or online sessions to refresh knowledge of users as needed or required by changes. Create/maintain training guides based on new information and/or best practices. Conduct observations of users in their work environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions to workflow design. Document workflow design, identify areas for improvement and facilitate improvement among FCN users. Evaluate and analyze FCN EHR features and functionality for problem resolution. Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all EHR users; provide user-reported problems using available tools, procedures, and policies. Assess and escalate user-reported problem in a timely manner; decide which issues need to be elevated to EHR management and/or IT support. Prepare training lessons, printing materials, and setting up the training room and environment prior to the training session. Present information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. Provide cross-cover for the EHR support team. Travel to all FCN Whatcom and Skagit county FCN sites as required. Manage projects by prioritizing deliverables and creating and adhering to timelines Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Strong knowledge base of computer technology and essential EHR application functions. Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communications skills with all levels of clinical, administrative and support staff. Ability to prioritize and multitask in performing detailed projects with frequent interruptions. Proven ability to solve problems, issues and concerns in a professional manner. Effective management of personal stress. Experience working in a primary care clinic or other health care setting strongly preferred. Fluency in English required, proficiency in Spanish a plus Familiarity with EpicCare Ambulatory products strongly preferred QualificationsEpic Certification/Accreditation & Training Requirements If a staff member is Epic certified/accredited prior to hire, FCN will determine if additional Epic training is required to assure proficiency or currency in the new assigned role and may provide Epic training at the organization’s discretion. Training Requirements – The Trainer and Training Lead attend the appropriate course track as designated by Epic and Family Care Network. Education & Experience: Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Clinical licensure and education, also beneficial. 3 or more years practical experience in a medical office, or related field. 3-5 years of experience that includes performing EHR training and providing IT support preferred. (Prior Epic trainer experience preferred.) Physical Requirements: Performing the duties of this job requires ability to: stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. Immunization Requirements: Employees are required to meet immunization standards in accordance with federal, state, and organizational health and safety guidelines, as applicable to the role.
