Saturna Capital is seeking an experienced Head of Marketing to lead the planning, prioritization, and execution of marketing initiatives across our investment products and business lines. This strategic, hands-on leadership role will help translate firm and distribution priorities into integrated marketing programs that strengthen product positioning, support business growth, and deliver high-quality, compliant communications.

The Head of Marketing will partner closely with senior leadership, Distribution, Investment Management, Product, and Compliance. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of asset-management marketing, investment-product distribution, and the audiences served by financial advisors, intermediaries, institutions, and individual investors.


Location: Bellingham, WA – on site 

Compensation: $120,000 – 200,000 DOE 


Primary duties include:

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing plans that align with firm priorities, product strategy, distribution goals, and audience needs.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to shape marketing strategy, product positioning, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Create and guide marketing programs for mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts, wealth-management services, and related offerings.
  • Support existing products, new product launches, platform opportunities, advertising, digital campaigns, thought leadership, events, and content initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and support a marketing team working across design, content, digital, and video; establish priorities, delegate work effectively, and maintain accountability for quality and deadlines.
  • Manage marketing intake, prioritization, workflow, timelines, and resource allocation across concurrent projects and stakeholder needs.
  • Serve as a trusted, professional liaison between Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders, clearly communicating priorities, decisions, timelines, and tradeoffs.
  • Ensure marketing materials align with brand standards and applicable regulatory requirements; work closely with Compliance to support timely review and approval.
  • Define, track, and report marketing activity, campaign performance, and key performance indicators; use results to improve strategy, process, and impact.
  • Identify and implement improvements to marketing processes, systems, efficiency, and quality.
  • Knowledge of brand strategy, design principles, digital marketing, content development, advertising, and campaign management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, industry-standard marketing tools, and Apple computers is preferred.
  • Experience with investment-product launches, advisor distribution, or intermediary marketing is strongly preferred.

Requirements: 

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible marketing experience, including experience in asset management, financial services, or a closely related investment business.
  • Strong understanding of investment products and asset-management distribution channels, ideally including mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts, wealth management, or comparable offerings.
  • Experience developing marketing programs for financial advisors, intermediaries, institutions, and/or individual investors.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute strategically while driving hands-on execution in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience partnering with sales or distribution teams, investment professionals, senior leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, analytical, and project-management skills.
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and sound decision-making.
  • Knowledge of brand strategy, design principles, digital marketing, content development, advertising, and campaign management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, industry-standard marketing tools, and Apple computers is preferred.
  • Experience with investment-product launches, advisor distribution, or intermediary marketing is strongly preferred.


Education and experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible marketing experience, including meaningful experience at an asset management firm or closely related investment business.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, asset-management distribution channels, financial advisors, and intermediary audiences.
  • Experience partnering with sales/distribution and investment professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategy while also driving execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and project-management skills.
  • Obtain FINRA SIE, Series 7, Series 63, and Series 24 within first 9 months of employment
