Job Description:

Quality Professional responsible for accomplishing Nondestructive Inspections (NDI) utilizing a variety of (NDI) methods which may Include but are not limited to: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Radiographic Testing (RT) on a variety of Aerospace Metallic, non-metallic structures and platforms, undergoing Maintenance or modifications processes.


Essential Functions:

  • Conducts inspections utilizing a variety of NDI methods which may include but are not limited to Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
  • Properly utilize NDT test equipment and associated tools to successfully interrogate hardware and structures, make decisions as to their acceptability for continued use and keep abreast of new and advanced test equipment.
  • Shall be required to document inspection results in both paper and electronic forms as well as complete and sign work records in connection with work performed.
  • Inspect parts, sub-assemblies and completed assemblies to the extent necessary to determine, accomplish and approve acceptability in accordance with written procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to work on check aircraft.
  • Assist with development of procedures and techniques for non-destructive testing of metallic and composite structures.
  • Support training of other NDI personnel using hands-on knowledge from vehicles via different mediums as appropriate.
  • Proven ability to conduct inspections with limited supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours and/or overtime to meet company objectives.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Successful completion of NAS 410 Level 2 Inspector training in UT, ET, RT, MT, and/or PT (UT and ET methods are highly preferred).
  • NAS 410 Level 2 certification with recent documented hours working as an NDT inspector.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in aircraft and/or aerospace non-destructive testing processes.
  • Must be a US citizen. 


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with composite aircraft is preferred although not required (commercial or military aerospace application).
  • Additional experience from an A&P Accredited school is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in DOD Navy and Air Force methods and processes relating to non-destructive inspection (NDI) .
  • Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
