SUMMARY  

Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent IĀ that will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline, while developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service.Ā Ā Ā

Site Development experience is needed. Ā This position is 100% travel with regular rotations home every 3 weeks for 4 days. Ā

RESPONSIBILITIESĀ 

  • Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project scheduleĀ 
  • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructabilityĀ 
  • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepanciesĀ 
  • Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedulesĀ 
  • Develop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipmentĀ 
  • Collaborate with project partner superintendentsĀ 
  • Conduct on-site project orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project site meetingsĀ 
  • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as neededĀ 
  • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team membersĀ 
  • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivityĀ 
  • Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussionsĀ 
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsĀ 
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performanceĀ 
  • Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team membersĀ 
  • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and proceduresĀ

QUALIFICATIONSĀ 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experienceĀ 
  • Minimum 5 years construction management or related experienceĀ 
  • Current driver’s licenseĀ 
  • Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex projectsĀ 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksĀ 
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesĀ 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skillsĀ 
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsĀ 
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesĀ 
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedbackĀ 
  • Ability to travel up to 100%Ā

The base pay range for this role is $111,100 – 167,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Ā 

Ā 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.Ā  This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
