Job Summary
The âProcess Engineerâ will be based onsite in Austin, TX.
In charge for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to hold up a manufacturing organization.
**2nd Shift (10% Shift differential)**
Responsibilities:
- Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques and the product.
- Define, implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
- High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.
- Assist in New Product Introduction (NPI) by reviewing designs for manufacturability (DFM) and validating the first production units.
- Hold up the raising and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters.
- Monitor and adjust machine parameters (e.g., temperature profiles, placement speeds) to improve throughput and reduce defects like tombstoning or solder bridging.
- Improve manufacturing techniques and through put.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process control plans.
- Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer.
- Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
- Provide real-time technical support on the production floor to resolve equipment malfunctions and process deviations.

- Guide cost improvement/reduction programs.
- Use analysis (RCA) tools to track yields and address quality issues while ensuring all operations meet safety standards.
Here is some of what youâll need (required):
- Typically requires a Bachelorâs degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Requires 2+ years of experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area.
- Experience with MES is highly preferred
- Experience with creating debug programs for SMT line machines, including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems.
- Previous experience with factory lay out and process flow.
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
- Comfortable with customer facing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
