ROLE SUMMARY

The Chief Digital Officer will define and lead the enterprise-wide digital strategy for First Financial Bank, advancing our position as a nationally recognized digital banking innovator. This executive will own the vision, development, and performance of our digital platforms, ensuring world‑class customer experiences, operational efficiency, and measurable business impact.

The CDO will anticipate emerging industry, AI, customer behavior, and regulatory trends; modernize our digital ecosystem; and drive a culture of continuous innovation, experimentation, and modernization across the enterprise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Strategy & Modernization

  • Create and execute a multi‑year digital strategy aligned with enterprise priorities, customer expectations, and the future state of digital banking.
  • Shape the evolution of our digital banking product suite and platform architecture to ensure competitive differentiation and national‑scale performance.
  • Lead enterprise adoption of technologies, self-service automation, and data‑driven decisioning across digital products, operations, and customer experience.

Product Ownership & Experience Leadership

  • Own digital performance outcomes including adoption, efficiency gains, customer satisfaction, and digital revenue contribution.
  • Reimagine customer journeys across retail, business, and wealth to deliver frictionless, personalized, data‑driven experiences.
  • Champion omnichannel consistency and ensure digital solutions integrate seamlessly with branch, contact center, and operations.

Execution, Delivery, and Operating Model

  • Lead cross‑functional teams (Information Technology, Risk & Compliance, Marketing, Operations) to deliver digital initiatives at speed and scale.
  • Drive modernization of delivery practices (agile, product operating model, design thinking, experimentation).
  • Manage digital program and initiative portfolio; ensure prioritization based on strategic value and measurable ROI.

Leadership, Culture, and Influence

  • Develop and scale a high-performing digital organization with a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and customer obsession.
  • Act as a digital evangelist to senior leadership and the Board, advocating for data-driven, technology-enabled decision-making.
  • Strengthen the bank’s digital brand and represent FFB externally with technology partners, analysts, and industry groups.

Partnership & Ecosystem Development

  • Cultivate strategic fintech, technology, cloud, and platform partnerships that accelerate digital innovation.
  • Identify and evaluate build‑buy‑partner decisions for modern digital capabilities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in digital products, digital transformation, platform engineering, or fintech innovation.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Science/Analytics, or related field.
  • Proven success in building and scaling digital ecosystems at a financial institution or technology-forward organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise with AI, automation, digital platforms, and modern product operating models.
  • Clear record of enterprise influence, transformational leadership, and organizational change management.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or advanced technical degree (Engineering, Data/AI, Information Systems)
  • Experience leading P&L‑impactful digital initiatives, new digital revenue models, or embedded finance.
  • Experience with cybersecurity, regulatory technology, risk modeling, and data governance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Onsite required. 

May require occasional after-hours or on-call support.
