The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead process development and optimization for automotive manufacturing operations. This role focuses on improving efficiency, ensuring compliance with ISO/IATF standards, and supporting new product launches. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement advanced manufacturing techniques and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize automotive manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues and scrap reduction efforts.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new automotive components.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support equipment selection, installation, and validation for automotive production lines.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on scrap reduction, cycle time improvement, and cost savings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Manufacturing, Mechanical or similar degree required. Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering.
  • Papermaking or paper converting experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with automotive components and assembly processes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for supplier visits or plant support.

Salary Range:

$92,800 - $127,600
