Civil Engineer intern will assist with the planning and development of a large or complex construction project by ensuring that construction designs are safely and efficiently implemented. Intern may also assist with budget, plan set, general permit compliance, and all additional site reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating project implementation ensuring all specifications are met and executed correctly
- Assisting the Project Manager with subcontractor oversight/organization to ensure the project schedule is maintained
- Developing and maintaining project schedules and forecasts
- Working with the Project Manager on project status updates including budget monitoring, schedule tracking, and personnel and equipment needs
- Managing effective communications between technical, construction, and project controls groups
- Studying plan specifications and related documents (analyzing labor, material, equipment and time requirements)
- Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data trends to generate conceptual, schematic, and hard dollar estimates
- Assisting with engineering drawings and layouts
- Collaborating with the Project Manager and Construction Manager, along with senior management, on project administration
- Preserving confidentiality when necessary
- Performing other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Must be enrolled in a Civil Engineering program and/or related field from an ABET accredited university is required
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
- OSHA 30 preferred
