Job Summary

McLean Hospital is a comprehensive psychiatric hospital committed to providing easy access to superior quality, cost-effective mental health services in the Boston area, Massachusetts and beyond. Since 1811, McLean Hospital has been a world leader in the treatment of mental illness and chemical dependency, research into the cause of mental illness and the training of generations of mental health care providers. McLean's multidisciplinary programs treat a broad range of psychiatric illnesses across the full continuum of care.

This role will work independently and under the supervision of Shifali Singh, PhD, a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor at McLean and Harvard Medical School. As part of the Digital Neuropsychology and Brain Health Laboratory, the post-doctoral fellow will have the unique opportunity to interact with our industry partners and patients with complex psychiatric and cognitive disorders. Our lab aims to develop novel, innovative approaches for measuring everyday cognition at scale by leveraging digital technologies. This includes everyday measures of cognition, speech, mood, and activity through wearables and other technologies that capture biometric data. Ideally, this candidate would want to grow their career in our lab, with opportunities to lead high-impact projects with our industry partners.

Job Description
With supervision and guidance, responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will include:
o Assist management of ongoing studies related to cognition, mood, and behavior
o Designs and implements modifications of lab-related and independent research protocols
o Troubleshooting problems and instructing colleagues in highly specialized techniques
o Synthesizes and interprets results
o Performs advanced data recording and analysis using various software programs and statistical techniques – must be comfortable with R and statistical software. Knowledge and experience working with LLMs, Machine Learning, and Time Series Analyses is preferred. Experience analyzing voice data is a bonus but not required
o Experience working with industry is a preferred but not required
o Presentation of results at lab meetings and national conferences
o Preparation and submission of research manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals
o Assisting with preparation of grant applications
o Other duties as assigned
