PURPOSE:

As an IT Systems Technician at Ag Solutions IT, you will work with other IT staff to perform on-site configuration, installation, support and maintenance of computers, software, printers, peripherals, office equipment, communication systems and associated plant cabling. This includes, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all corporate owned PC related hardware, software and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance. This position will troubleshoot problem areas on-site and remotely, by telephone or via e-mail, in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance and training where required. Secondary roles will include assisting with network installation and support. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for workstation setups, upgrades, hardware and software maintenance.
  • Maintenance includes but is not limited to:  hard drives, memory, video cards, network cards, optical drives and printing.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, peripherals, and software.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware, peripherals, and software systems.
  • Care for all computer-related equipment, including workstations, printers, fuel sites and automations.
  • Responsible for answering incoming telephone calls, voice mails and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer related technologies.
  • Responsible for working with the Computer Operations Supervisor to escalate hardware and software related issues.
  • Must be willing to take part in the rotating weekly on call schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

There are no supervisory duties.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • 2-year degree in a related field or 2 to 4 years related work experience. Minimum one plus years of demonstrated experience supporting a corporate environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizing skills.
  • Must be able to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories. 
  • Must possess the ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides.
  • Must possess effective interpersonal and relationship building skills. 
  • Must be proficient in workstation configuration, troubleshooting and support in a Microsoft Windows 11, Active Directory environment. Familiarity with Apple iOS and Android based products and systems required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, up through version 2016 and Office 365 including use, installation, configuration and troubleshooting required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people. 
  • Must be self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Takes responsibility for the way money and resources are used and managed.
