About the role

Kerry is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Pharma Manager – Development & Applications to join our Pharmaceutical Technology and Innovation team. Reporting to the RD&A Director, this role will help define and execute the strategic vision for Kerry’s pharmaceutical portfolio, supporting innovation, commercialization, and long-term growth initiatives across global markets.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in biopharma applications with strong commercial acumen to identify market opportunities, guide innovation priorities, support customer engagement, and drive business growth. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including RD&A, Product Management, Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Technical Support, Quality, and Operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the strategic vision, innovation roadmap, and growth strategy for Kerry’s pharmaceutical portfolio.
  • Lead long-term product and technology roadmaps for assigned biopharma platforms.
  • Evaluate market trends, customer needs, competitive intelligence, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support strategic business planning through market assessments, partnership evaluations, and M&A opportunity analysis.
  • Partner with RD&A teams to prioritize innovation programs and product enhancement initiatives.
  • Develop business cases and commercialization plans for new product development projects.
  • Guide innovation pipelines by identifying unmet customer needs and future platform opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate product development and successful market launches.
  • Serve as the biopharma subject matter expert and technical escalation resource for complex customer and application challenges.
  • Provide scientific and technical guidance related to biologics, vaccines, cell and gene therapies (CGT), sterile injectables, and pharmaceutical formulation challenges.
  • Support customer meetings, technical presentations, and strategic discussions as a trusted advisor.
    Translate complex technical capabilities into clear customer benefits and differentiated value propositions.

Qualifications and skills

Master's degree or PhD in Biochemistry. Biotechnology. Pharmaceutical Sciences. Chemical Engineering. Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Minimum 7 years of experience in Biopharmaceutical development, Drug product development, Biologics, Vaccines, Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT)
Strong understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including Biologics, Vaccines, Cell & Gene Therapies, Sterile injectable products
Experience supporting formulation development, process development, technical applications, or customer-facing scientific activities.
Demonstrated ability to connect scientific and commercial perspectives to drive business growth.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills with diverse technical and commercial audiences.
Experience with pharmaceutical excipients, stabilizers, buffer systems, cryoprotectants, lyoprotectants, or process materials.
Knowledge of biologics formulation and stabilization strategies.
 
 
 
The pay range for this position is $102,400 - $168,250 in Annual Salary.  Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.  Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.  This job posting is anticipated to expire on September 30th, 2026.
