Beloit Health System is looking to add a Per Diem MRI Technologist to our Team!

  • Shift: 1st & 2nd shift combination
  • Schedule: 6:30 am - 9:00 pm (8-hour shifts within this timeframe)
  • Hours per week: Varied - Per Diem
  • Benefits Status: Not Eligible
  • Department: MRI

The MRI Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. Performs radiographic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician.

  • Performs diagnostic radiographic services
  • Operates imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate
  • Selects and/or calculates technical factors
  • Applies principles of magnetic safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others
  • Evaluates radiography for technical quality
  • Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures
  • Administers or assists with administration of contrast media, as required
  • Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, film usage, quality improvement, etc.
  • Performs quality control checks are required
  • Maintains accurate patient records and files with confidentiality
  • Provides input for equipment and supply decisions
  • Detects, reports to supervision, and contacts repair person for equipment malfunctions Assumes responsibility for portions of department quality assurance and improvement program
  • Performs clerical and scheduling functions
  • Pursues continuing education
  • Assumes responsibility for inventory and stocking of supplies

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT registration in Radiology
  • MRI certification within 18 months of hire or transfer
  • CPR certification within 90 days
  • Self-motived and able to be flexible
  • Ability to function independently and to problem solve
  • Good written and oral communication skills and excellent patient interaction skills
  • Must adhere to established health system and Medical Imaging department policies, rules and regulations
  • Maintains ethical conduct and keeps confidential personal and medical information about patients
  • Reporting Relationship: Director of Medical Imaging. Clinical advisement is received from the Radiologist
