Description

General Purpose of the job:

The purpose of this position is to direct and manage a procurement engineering organization responsible for generation of commercial grade dedication (CGD) plans, seismic and environmental qualification plans, and receipt inspection activities for items procured in support of Chrysalis construction, a first-of-a-kind medical isotope facility located in Janesville, WI. 

  

Hybrid or remote work arrangement will be considered. While our headquarters is located in Janesville, Wisconsin, we welcome applicants from across the U.S. who can effectively collaborate in a virtual environment. Candidates may be asked to travel occasionally for team meetings or onsite engagements, depending on business needs.  


The base salary range for this position is $157,000 - $198,950 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages procurement engineering staff, including making hiring decisions.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained and perform work in accordance with SHINE quality standards for dedication, qualification, and receipt inspection activities.
  • Mentor staff on qualification processes for commercial items.
  • Mentor staff on receipt inspection activities as part of quality receipt inspector (QRI) certification process.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and specifications during dedication and receipt inspection activities.
  • Interface with Project Controls organization to develop and execute schedule activities for dedication, qualification, and receipt inspection activities to support Construction.
  • Interface with Engineering, Commercial Grade Dedication Lab, and Supply Chain groups early in the procurement process to determine procurement strategies.  
  • Interface with Engineering organization to identify safety functions of items.
  • Interface with Commercial Grade Dedication Lab Supervisor on testing activities. 
  • Lead the development, review, approval, and execution of commercial grade dedication plans, seismic qualification plans, and environmental qualification plans.
  • Lead receipt inspection processes for items purchased for safety-related and non-safety-related applications.
  • Provide dispositions to Over, Short, Damage, and Discrepant (OSDD) reports, as required.
  • Develop and maintain group budget for procurement engineering costs.
  • Develop and update procurement engineering schedule, maintaining a detailed and high-integrity plan to accurately predict milestones and resource loading. 
  • Monitor for early warning signs related to schedule slips and shifts resources to keep projects on schedule.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least fifteen (15) years of nuclear industry experience preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in commercial grade dedication (EPRI NP5652).
  • Understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements.
  • Experience in equipment qualification.
  • Understanding of nuclear facility principles and operation.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop strong intercompany relationships. 
  • Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communications skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 software.


 

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
