Beloit Health System is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team on a Per Diem basis. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to help patients achieve their highest level of function and quality of life.

  • Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, physician referrals, and patient goals.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy to patients across diverse populations, including adults, geriatrics, and pediatric patients as applicable.
  • Perform bedside swallowing evaluations and instrumental assessments, such as Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS), as appropriate.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, progress, and home exercise programs.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning activities.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety practices.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical staff regarding communication and swallowing disorders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited school or higher degree equivalent.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Language Pathology and CPR Certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Current License in the State of Wisconsin as Speech Language Pathologist
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees, patients, and family members in groups and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with a variety of equipment, including computer software, is required.
  • Organization, time management, flexibility, and positive attitude are crucial to successful performance.
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize multiple demands and problem-solve
  • Maintain ethical conduct and keep confidential personal and medical information about patients.
  • Reporting relationship Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Clinical Coordinator.
