As our **Lead Registered Dietitian**, you'll have the opportunity to lead a collaborative team, shape nutrition services across inpatient and outpatient settings, and make a meaningful impact on the health of our rural communities. Summary

Assists in the operation of clinical nutrition therapy services for assigned areas within Good Samaritan Society and Sanford as needed. Will provide assistance for the coordination of staff scheduling and work flows, program implementation and performance improvement activities. Will perform as a clinical resource to dietitians and assists in the orientation/mentoring of employees. Assists with monitoring of appropriate indicators for quality and continuous improvement. Will collaborate with leadership on issues pertaining to growth, team building and maintaining the budget.

Job Description

Plans, develops and provides diet interventions, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition care and preventive counseling to individuals and groups in all areas of primary and specialty patient care, acute care, skilled nursing, out-patient, and/or community settings. Evaluates treatments for effectiveness using an evidence-based approach. Supports supervision and operations in the absence of management. Support for supply attainment, questions from call center and is the main contact when manager is not available, etc. Will be responsible to assist in client/patient care as appropriate to clinical background. Must demonstrate support of the mission, vision and values of the organization. Expected to contribute to the strategic planning, day-to-day operations and attainment of the strategic initiatives of the organization. Works as a team member for the overall functioning of the Nutrition Therapy service line. Demonstrates leadership by inspiring others to give compassionate care to improve patient outcomes. Ensures all nutrition therapy-related standards, policies, protocols and quality requirements are met. Works with senior dietitians (if on staff) to support implementation of new nutrition therapies or standards of care as appropriate to clinical background. Performs other related duties as requested by manager or director. OTHER INFORMATION: When students are providing patient care, education or services as part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise students.

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in dietetics or food and nutrition through an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited program. *(After January 1, 2024, the ASCEND requires anyone taking the registration exam to become a dietitian have a Master’s Degree. Prior to January 1, 2024, individuals qualifying to take the registration exam need to have the minimum of a bachelor's of science degree in dietetics.)

Must have five (5) years clinical dietitian experience.

Must maintain active registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration annually. Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
