Century West Engineering, a premier Northwest engineering consulting firm, is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our growing team. The Marketing Manager plays a key leadership role in developing and executing marketing strategies that support our company’s growth and brand identity. You’ll collaborate closely with senior management, business development, and technical teams to elevate our visibility, attract new clients, and ensure the highest quality in proposals and marketing materials. You will lead the identification, development, delivery, and follow-up of high-quality marketing proposals. You will manage the Marketing and Events team whose primary job function is proposal development, and support project managers with business development efforts both in and out of the office. The chosen candidate will work either in our Lake Oswego or Bend, OR offices and will report to the Marketing & Business Development Director. Although this position is posted at the Marketing Manager level, we may consider exceptional Senior Marketing Coordinator candidates who demonstrate the potential and readiness to grow into a manager role within the next 1–2 years. The complete salary range for this position is $123,000-$186,500 with a hiring range of $123,000-$155,000. A different hiring range would be identified for a Senior Marketing Coordinator candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with company-wide business goals.
  • Define how Century West is positioned and portrayed in the marketplace.
  • Lead the creation of proposals, brochures, presentations, and marketing collateral.
  • Establish company-wide standards for proposal development, formatting, and process.
  • Partner with the Business Development team to identify and pursue new business opportunities and client relationships.
  • Evaluate markets, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to annual marketing and financial planning.
  • Manage departmental budgets and oversee marketing expenditures.
  • Supervise and mentor marketing team members, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and networking events as a representative of the company.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure efficiency, brand consistency, and client success.
  • Identify and track leads through reviewing Capital Improvement Programs, monitoring lead tracking subscriptions, and otherwise supporting project managers with finding and maintaining target clients.
  • Facilitate internal team and client debriefs for continual improvement
  • Assign proposal development responsibilities to the appropriate marketing resources.
  • Manage proposal responses to RFPs, including facilitating kick-off meetings, managing proposal deadlines, writing and coordinating content, coordinating and receiving content from subconsultants, and complying with our quality management processes.
  • Proofread, edit, and provide quality reviews of proposals prepared by other marketing and professional staff.
  • Ensure content is comprehensive, competitive, client-specific, and brand-compliant.
  • Develop graphics that are visually compelling and tell a story.
  • Own interview preparation strategy and collaborate with the business development team to deliver compelling, high-quality interview collateral.
  • Track business development activities in Deltek Vantagepoint CRM.
  • Represent Century West through community and professional organization involvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, preferably in professional services, A/E/C, or technical industries.
  • Skilled in proposal writing, graphic design, and content development.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint CRM, Elementor, and WordPress preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage marketers and technical staff through the proposal process.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and manage special marketing, events, and business development projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally represent the company at professional events.
  • Technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Self-directed, with strong time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver quality results within deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
