TheĀ Operations SupervisorĀ assistsĀ theĀ OperationsĀ Manager with the operations and personnel for a shiftĀ ofĀ a particular location. The Operations Supervisor may have supervisory duties of employees on a shift, including but not limited to: Technicians-In-Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, Technicians, and Service Employees. The Operations Supervisor must be able toĀ accomplishĀ results and ensure businessĀ objectivesĀ and labor requirements are met. The Ops SupervisorĀ is responsible forĀ ensuring the customers' needs are being met while balancing financial,Ā operating, quality,Ā safetyĀ and asset targets against the requirements of the business.Ā This position is responsible for managing the location’s performance against metrics to meet and/or exceed assigned objectives.Ā The Ops Supervisor will receive cross-functional training to support others within the shop. As with all Ryder shop positions, the OperationsĀ Supervisor, or ā€œShift Supervisorā€,Ā is responsible forĀ adhering to all Ryder Maintenance Operations policies and procedures.

Essential FunctionsĀ 

  • Workflow Management:Ā 
    Responsible for work analysis, planning and scheduling, scheduling and assigning work to technicians, productivity tracking and optimization, shift and shop meetings, and RO review and approvalĀ 
    Ensures all warranty policies and procedures are executedĀ 
    Responsible for Triage of unscheduled customer drive-ins, and for communicating with customers and assigning work to technicians as appropriateĀ 
    Responsible for conducting yard checks to ensure proper work scheduling and prioritizationĀ 

  • Labor ManagementĀ 
    Provides management, training and development of all personnel assignedĀ 
    Responsible for Performance Management of all assigned personnelĀ 

  • Customer Management:Ā 
    Responsible for customer relationship management to include issue resolutions, customerĀ satisfactionĀ and retention, as well as ensuring vehicle uptimeĀ 
    Responsible for customer communication protocol as it pertains to PM Scheduling & follow-up, breakdowns and vehicle status updatesĀ 
    Conduct customer visits as required by the Customer Care PlanĀ 

  • Asset Management:Ā 
    Directs his/her direct reports in maintaining the appearance and maintenance of assigned location, including sustaining 65 standards in all relevant shop areas of responsibilityĀ 
    Evaluates needs and makes recommendation for shop tooling and equipment requirementsĀ 
    Assist in the management and oversight of vehicle specifications and vehicle inĀ· service/out-service processĀ 
    Assist in ensuring all vehicles have required specifications in SAMĀ 
    Responsible for Parts Inventory management, policies and proceduresĀ 

  • Quality Management:Ā 
    Responsible for Quality Inspections of PM & repairs, as well as performing In Process Reviews of non-PM workĀ 
    Perform breakdown root cause analysis, implement corrective actions locally, andĀ when necessary, communicate issues to Technical Assistance CenterĀ 
    Ensure Cleanliness and quality of repair for all maintained vehiclesĀ 
    Work with Service Manager to ensure all technicians are properly trained and qualified, and TOPS plan is prioritized based upon Breakdown, Rework and Running Cost trendsĀ 
    Maintain control/visibility over shop floor activities to ensure proper root cause diagnosis by technicians and that the yield on all parts/components is optimizedĀ 
    Assist in the development and ensure implementation of Quality Assurance Audit Corrective Action plans and Continuous Improvement programsĀ 
    Accountable for maintenance of all relevant documentation required to meet and/or exceed local, state, federal, as well as customer requirementsĀ 
    Ensure Employee compliance with Safety and EPA regulations and requirementsĀ 

  • Financial Management:Ā 
    Responsible for ensuring shift/shop delivers against Net Maintenance Cost per Unit objectives without sacrificing quality, safety or customer satisfactionĀ 
    Responsible for cost control measures related to maintenance operations budget and location P&L statement to meet financial objectivesĀ 
    Responsible for successful execution of Maintenance Initiatives to attain or exceed specified financial targetsĀ 
    Responsible for Payroll, Purchase Order approval, as warranted, and invoice reconciliation, and fuel reconciliationĀ 
    Responsible for the customer bill back process to include identification, review and approval of bill back opportunitiesĀ 
    Responsible for ensuring proper documentation and explanation/ reporting ofĀ reĀ·billableĀ activityĀ 
    Ensure data integrity in the Shop Management Online systemĀ

Compensation Information:

TheĀ compensationĀ offeredĀ toĀ a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.Ā The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/orĀ type.Ā CompensationĀ ranges for the position are below:
