What You’ll Be Doing:
Take the lead in preparing and serving meals that meet nutrition and portion guidelines
Handle daily ordering, receiving, and storage of food, beverages, and supplies
Keep the kitchen running smoothly by organizing cleaning duties and ensuring food safety
Set up hot and cold serving lines, brew coffee, and keep beverage areas stocked
Deliver meals when needed for classrooms, staff, or catered events
Manage POS/cash handling and make sure deposits are accurate

What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of food service experience
ServSafe certification (or willingness to get certified)
Great attitude, reliability, and team spirit
Ability to speak and read English and follow safety procedures
Comfortable standing, lifting (up to 40 lbs), and working in hot/cold environments

Qualifications

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for making and serving nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Duties:

  • Coordinates all preparation and serving of food according to menus and in correct portion sizes as mandated by yield guides.

  • Assist General Manager with ordering and receiving of all food, beverage, and paper products needed for daily service in the school. Checks and stores incoming supplies.

  • Assists General Manager with monthly inventory, and weekly monthly paperwork.
  • Completes daily production records. 
  • Manages POS/cash handling by team members and confirms all deposits.

  • Fills beverage machines, brews coffee, and sets up hot and/or cold food areas.

  • Delivers food to staff, students, and catering events when necessary.

  • Delegates and performs cleaning duties, including sweeping/mopping floors, cleaning equipment/work areas, dishwashing, and pot washing.

  • Ensures the team members are completing their duties as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance with all state, Federal, and local health department requirements for safe food handling.

  • Complies with all client location security protocols and guidelines.

  • Assumes responsibility for covering day-to-day operations and maintaining service continuity when the General Manager is out.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability to oversee day-to-day operations and lead the team in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Manages and follows assigned break schedules.

  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Adheres to all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times
    • Supports the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons.

  • Complies with all requirements of the mandated food handling certification requirements

  •  Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Participates on the safety committee and attends all mandatory in-service programs.
