Dispatcher

Summary of Position:

 Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the dispatcher's main duties include logging each call, answering questions by retrieving information from the relevant departments, and supervising field units’ routes to prioritize and organize their schedules.

 Key Responsibilities

• Respond to any issues and follow up by coordinating with the appropriate departments or field units.
• Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries.
• Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance. 
• Use radio, phone, or computer to send crews, vehicles, or other field units to appropriate locations.
• Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule. 
• Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements.
• Enter data in the computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information.

• Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

• Scheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests, or immediate needs

• Speaking with supervisors or customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment
• Preparing daily work, such as schedules

Minimum Requirements:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office with proven experience in data entry.
• Ability to work well under pressure 
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
• A combination of the above requirements will also be considered to satisfy the minimum requirements.
• Availability to work a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, during the hours of 2:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
