Position Summary:

The Process Engineer Intern will provide support to the Manufacturing Engineer Team by assistant in completion or advancement of a project outlined within the 2025 1 Year Plan. 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with the evaluation and improvement of processes in the manufacturing area.
  • Assist with development of innovative processes and methods to solve current production inefficiencies and process difficulties. (i.e., production rates, efficiencies, product yields, costs and changeovers). 
  • Help develop trial strategies for new product offerings. 
    1. Help with processing/testing of trial samples. 
    2. Collect, record, and report trial data.
  • Document and report result on existing products and processes.
  • Assist with compound trials and substantiate use for production.
  • Ensure projects are completed as scheduled and in a timely manner. Provide ample warnings to staff of delays which might impact other project deadlines. 
  • Research and recommend new manufacturing technology. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytic and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills; ability to comprehend new hardware/software applications.
  • Ability to write concise reports of findings.
  • Microsoft Access
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Understanding of statistics
  • Requires the ability to interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications.
  • Sound understanding of engineering theory, design verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, machining, and quality production methods.
  • Statistical process control
  • 5S experience preferred

Qualifications:

  • Currently working on a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school in a related field is required, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Process Engineering. 
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
