Job DetailsJob Location: DGLC - BENSENVILLE, IL 60106Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $15.00 - $15.00 HourlyAn early childhood teacher will create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children, responsible for lesson planning, organizing, and managing their own classroom. This role involves developing and implementing a curriculum that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through hands-on activities and play-based learning. The teacher will work closely with parents and caregivers to support each child's unique development and celebrate their milestones. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners in a supportive and imaginative atmosphere. DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool-aged children. Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all students. Supervise children in outdoor and indoor settings, ensuring their safety and well-being. Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through interactive play and structured activities. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress and needs. Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate special events and programs. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and individual children's development. Promote positive behavior and conflict resolution among students. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the classroom and outdoor spaces. Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through carefully constructed curriculum Establish and maintain positive relationships with families through meetings, newsletters, and events to foster a strong community connection.  Utilize creative arts, music, and movement in daily activities to encourage self-expression and creativity among children.  Collaborate with Recreation Supervisor Other duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field – preferred Knowledge of child development and educational best practices  Ability to create age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities  Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children  Experience working with children 2-5 Ability to communicate and interact effectively with children, parents, and staff Ability to solve problems as they arise Must be dependable, energetic, and have a positive attitude Ability to enforce Park District rules and safety practices Certified in CPR/AED and First Aid is required JOB STATUS         Part time                             DEPARTMENT      Recreation         FSLA STATUS                               Non-Exempt SALARY                 $15.00 per hour HOURS                  8:00am-12pm, M-F, additional hours as needed
