The Billing Assistant is responsible for billing entry and accuracy checks for Michigan Medicaid payors.

Requirements

Essential Functions 


  • Collect, audit, and input billing data for submission to all Michigan Medicaid payors.
  • Communicate with Billing Specialist as representative for Electronic Medical Records system to resolve billing-related issues stemming from software.  
  • Assist billing specialist in working with Michigan Medicaid to address rejections/appeals, authorizations, and contracts. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of several different Community Mental Health provider billing policies and procedures.  
  • Effectively and professionally communicate billing issues with LOGAN leadership.
  • Supports general office duties and responsibilities, filing, and tracking billing needs.
  • Monitoring for billing overlaps and errors, and communicating with providers
  • Posts payments from CMH
  • Supporting connections and scheduling in Central Reach for clients and providers.
  • Supporting and completing corrective claim forms
  • Submitting paper bills for secondary CMH billing requirements
  • Willingness to learn and support the Billing Specialist in various client billing needs

QUALIFICATIONS


Education 

  • High school diploma (minimum)


Experience 

  • Experience in health care or a related field preferred
