What You'll Do

Core responsibilities include:

  • Support and supervision in the classroom, in support of both the individual student and an overall safe and stimulating educational environment.
  • Utilizing the student profile to proactively plan, preparing, and developing various teaching aids for use in the classroom to support student success, including activity sheets, drawings, and similar handouts.
  • Providing redirection as needed to support appropriate classroom behaviors.
  • Supervising and supporting student breaks from the classroom as needed.
  • Supporting the student in learning to identify and proactively prepare for challenges such as sensory stimuli, social discomfort, etc., and to develop strategies for self-regulating and returning to class.
  • Presenting and reinforcing class subject matter to the student, under the guidance of a teacher, utilizing a variety of methods including stories, discussions, and role-playing as needed.
  • Assisting the student with assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
  • In the absence of the teacher, may confer with parents on student progress.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Credentials
