About the Role:Â
Â
The Trip Development Content Specialist plays a key role within the Trip Development department (TD), ensuring guest-facing, sales-facing, and internal trip content is accurate, clear, and consistently high quality. This role supports TD Program Managers and Directors while working closely with field teams to oversee and refine trip content across all channels. The specialist also collaborates with cross-functional partners such as Supplier Operations, Hotels, and Sales & Marketing on content-related projects, contributing to a wide range of initiatives based on business needs. The ideal candidate brings strong time management, a proactive problem-solving approach, and the ability to balance precise information with compelling storytelling, helping maintain both content integrity and strong working relationships across a global team.Â

What you’ll be doing (bullets): Â
- Identify and recommend workflow, process, and system improvements to increase efficiency and data accuracy across Trip DevelopmentÂ
- Collaborate cross-functionally with program leads, field teams, and key stakeholders to support trip content oversight and continuous improvementÂ
- Oversee review, auditing, and maintenance of internal and guest-facing trip content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standardsÂ
- Conduct regular data validation audits, track updates, and document trip content and data standardsÂ
- Identify recurring data issues, escalate risks, and propose long-term solutions through training, system enhancements, or process changesÂ
- Manage and enhance the On Trip App experience, including content audits, updates, seasonal uploads, and quality assuranceÂ
- Facilitate App-related communication and coordination, including meetings, follow-ups, resource updates, and responding to inquiriesÂ
- Partner with Product and Trip Development teams to analyze feedback and contribute to future App enhancements and development initiativesÂ
- Support Field Expert and Trip Expert programs through audits, trainings, seasonal projects, and special initiativesÂ
- Serve as a go-to resource within Trip Development for best practices, trip data processes, and content quality standardsÂ

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and WordÂ

The Trip Development department plays a critical role within Backroads, supporting trip design & trip development. The team ensures the highest level of quality is always being upheld to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The department is comprised of teams based in Berkeley, CA, Utrecht, Netherlands, and a global field-based team. You’ll be bringing your imagination, strong work ethic and critical eye for detail to a dedicated group of team members who are passionate about sharing the joys of active travel with both returning guests and brand-new audiences. Â
