Job Details

The Health System Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of multiple Patient Access Representatives (PARs) including Specialty Enablement and Patient Assistance teams at assigned Patient Access Services (PAS) locations. The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for assisting the RMO in the financial and account development activities of assigned PAS locations. The Patient Access Supervisor also acts as a PAR for assigned facilities. Nominal travel is required. 

 

Location: This role will be 100% onsite at client site in Roseville, Ca

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrates superior understanding of the Patient Access Representative duties – Specialty Enablement and Patient Assistance. 

  • People Manager: Participates in the personnel management activities of assigned PAS locations, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision, promotions, counseling and terminations. 

  • Interfaces appropriately with administrators of Patient Assistance Program and Co-Pay Assistance Foundations. 

  • Ensures that patient specific-reimbursement information is on file for tracking of replacement products. 

  • Monitors and trends reasons for denied claims and takes action to resolve issues that adversely affect product replacement. 

  • Monitors Access Sphere for receivables, logged problems, updates to PAP program requirements, as well as standardized forms and letters. 

  • Navigates the health care system and its component parts to achieve prescription fulfillment and improved patient outcomes. 

  • Provides advice as the subject matter expert to client sponsors and collaborate with stakeholders on opportunities to expand the health system’s services and increase revenue by developing business plans and execute the marketing plan to enhance pull through opportunity. 

  • Responsible for influencing physician and clinic staff to refer patients to health systems preferred specialty pharmacy provider through education and excellent customer service. Promote the value and benefits of the preferred pharmacy. Continue to facilitate patient referral in a timely manner and delivers exceptional client service to clinic staff and clinic patients. 

  • Serve as the “face to the customer”. Develop and maintain close relationships with clinic staff, physician, pharmacy and hospital contacts through face to face interactions. Provide consultation or expert advice to management. Build trust and confidence in patient services to increase patient referrals and prescription capture rates. 

  • Develops and maintains close relationships with all key associates at assigned hospitals. 

  • Coordinates distribution and implementation of new operational procedures to assigned PARs on a timely basis. 

  • Assists the Implementation Team in the transition of accounts to the supervisor’s assigned location, coordinating the set up of software, hardware and, training, and for requesting and procuring reports as needed to support product recovery efforts. 

  • If requested, makes visits to PAS accounts to provide support to Client  Relationship Managers. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Education: 

 

A minimum of three (3) years in fields such as Benefit Verification, Prior Authorization, Medical Billing, Medical Office Administration, Social Work, Medical Records, Patient Financial Services, Pharmacy, Nursing or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a 2 to 4-year  degree, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of one (1) year experience as a Patient Access Representative. 

 

Skills:

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massacusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
