Location: Bernardsville, NJ (Serving Northern New Jersey)

Earn $70,000–$100,000+ Per Year 
 
At Voda Cleaning & Restoration, our Restoration Crew Chief own projects from the initial inspection through completion.

You'll inspect losses, determine the proper remediation protocol, develop the field scope for our Xactimate estimating team, lead the technicians, work alongside your crew, communicate with homeowners and internal management, and ensure every project is completed following the correct protocol and IICRC standards.

Your Two Primary Responsibilities

1. Scope the Job

You'll be the first person on-site to assess the damage and determine exactly what needs to happen.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect residential and commercial water, mold, fire, smoke, and emergency restoration losses.
  • Determine the proper remediation protocol using IICRC S500 and S520 Standards.
  • Develop detailed field scopes including measurements, photos, demolition plans, drying plans, and remediation procedures.
  • Document moisture readings, affected materials, equipment needs, and restoration procedures.
  • Collaborate with our Xactimate estimator to ensure every job is properly scoped.
You are NOT expected to write Xactimate estimates.

2. Lead the Job

Once the scope is complete...

You'll lead the project from start to finish.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and mentor restoration technicians while working alongside them.
  • Perform all aspects of water mitigation, structural drying, mold remediation, selective demolition, smoke and odor restoration, and emergency services.
  • Build containments, establish negative air, perform HEPA vacuuming, antimicrobial treatments, flood cuts, demolition, and encapsulation.
  • Install, monitor, and adjust drying equipment using moisture mapping and daily psychrometric readings.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, insurance adjusters, property managers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain complete job documentation, moisture logs, daily notes, and photographs.
  • Perform final walkthroughs to ensure every customer receives exceptional service.

Required Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years of professional restoration experience.
  • Must have own vehicle to drive to shop in the AM.
  • Previous experience as a Crew Chief, Senior Technician, Field Supervisor, or Restoration Project Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of water mitigation, structural drying, mold remediation, selective demolition, and emergency restoration.
  • Working knowledge of IICRC S500 and S520 Standards.
  • Ability to independently inspect losses and develop detailed field scopes.
  • Strong leadership and customer communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in attics, crawlspaces, basements, roofs, and confined spaces.

  • Xactimate familiarity (preferred but not required)

  • Participation in an on-call for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
