Designer I

Job Summary

The Designer I is responsible for the accurate design of complex concrete formwork.  The designs are made with CFS forming systems, and complicated forming challenges are cut using CNC’s to create complex shapes.  The designer reads and interprets architectural and structural construction documents to identify formwork needed to create the shape drawn in construction documents. Works under general supervision and uses proven means and methods in design to achieve UFP specific formwork solutions.  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Design formwork in Revit, Solid Works, and 3D AutoCAD.

• Optimize designs for maximum efficiency.

• Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy

• Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting

• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate. Preferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent

• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in related field/responsibilities

• Working knowledge and experience using formwork is preferred

• Working knowledge of how to run calculations for correctly designing formwork

• Ability to read and understand blueprints

• Strong math skills

• Ability to use a computer and proficiency with design software systems

Hourly Pay Range: 

$30.80 - $38.50 per hour, dependent on experience*

                *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living 

Bonus/Incentive Pay:

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses.  A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
