Construction Laborer

Description

Job Overview:

• The construction laborer position is responsible for the following:
• Building and installing structures and frameworks including walls, floors, and door frames
• Inspecting and replacing damaged framework, structures, and fixtures
• Performing basic duties associated with carpentry and masonry

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Build and repair structures associated with residential and commercial construction/remodeling
• Set up equipment to be used at work sites
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements
• Grind, sand, and polish surfaces such as concrete or wood
• Install and finish dry wall and flooring surfaces
• Unload materials such as lumber, tools, and other equipment used at work sites
• Must possess one’s own carpentry tools

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED
• Relevant experience with carpentry, masonry, and electrical is required 
• Familiarity with residential and commercial construction practices
• Valid driver’s license
• Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing

Some job functions will be performed outdoors and expose the employee to changing weather conditions.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time position and regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.in addition to weekends on an as-needed basis with the ability to work outside of or in addition to those hours as needed.

Travel:

• Must be willing to travel. Travel expectation outside of the local area can vary.
