The ideal candidate will manage multiple priorities while contributing to a collaborative team environment.   Our ideal BSS has a track record of completing residential quality control site visits, ensuring energy efficiency measures and installations meet program specifications.  They have the knowledge and ability to complete diagnostic testing and analyze results for heating system combustion analysis, carbon monoxide measurement, gas leak detection, zonal pressure identification, infrared scanning, and blower door air leakage measurement.     As a key member of our Workforce Development Team, the BSS helps develop and deliver quality technical training and support materials for energy efficiency professionals. This position may be based anywhere in Wisconsin or in a state that shares a border with Wisconsin and requires regular travel throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states several times per month.   What You’ll Do Conduct quality control residential field site visits Deliver technical training Assist or lead the development of technical training and support materials. Complete diagnostic testing of buildings and equipment analyzing results and reporting findings Provide information for review of data and monthly reports QualificationsWhat You Need Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Minimum of three years work-related experience Basic proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite Building Performance Institute (BPI); Home Energy Professional (HEP) Energy Auditor; and Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certification required; or the ability to become certified upon hire Exhibit ability to perform diagnostic testing and analysis related to home energy assessments, quality control inspections, and training Demonstrated ability to incorporate residential building science best practices Knowledge of the Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program Ability to travel throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states on a regular basis   Physical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, with tasks typically performed while sitting or occasionally standing. Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment. Tasks demand visual focus for reading and working on screens. Walking, bending, crawling, stooping, crouching, squatting, kneeling, twisting (neck/trunk), reaching with arms, and reaching overhead. Use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms. Use tools or controls. Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders as required. Ability to move, lift, push, pull, or carry items weight up to 50 lbs. Ability to operate motor vehicles including, but not limited to, a box truck. This position frequently communicates via phone and video conferencing, with in-person interactions as applicable.   Working Environment Hybrid position with the ability to work from home or another suitable location with reliable internet access. If in office, expect a moderate noise level. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Some exposure to weather conditions. Must have the ability to work independently while staying engaged with the team through virtual communication tools such as email, chat, and video conferencing. Requires a quiet and professional workspace for virtual meetings and collaboration.
